Hi friend. My name is Lauretta Belk and I’m the girl behind the blog here at This Life Worth Loving.
I am a Southern California native transplanted in Oregon in 1994. I’m a single mom of 4 humans, who are all adults (my youngest turned 18 not too long ago), Oma (Dutch for Grandma) to 4 amazing grand humans and I have 3 Furbabies, Bella, Fred & Freyja; you can see them all in my Cast of Characters (on the right).
I’m now single, independent and loving life – with all the stress, mess and beauty!
Currently I’m working TWO full-time jobs, taking care of family and preparing for my #VanLife journey.
On the treasured little bit of time I actually have off, you could find me doing a variety of things I love including listening to music while Facebooking (yep, I made that a verb), working on my laptop (blogging or budgeting), and can also be found binge watching a few of my fave shows. I also love playing board games, card games, and dice with my family or playing SIMS4 on my PlayStation. In the fall I LOVE watching UO Ducks College Football! Of course, we can’t leave out traveling! Whether it’s a day or weekend trip somewhere local here in the Pacific Northwest, a short week-long road trip or cruise, or international travel, I’m ALL about it!
Additional tidbits:
I am a coffee addict.
I HATE the rain.
I’ve long wanted to learn Spanish and Sign Language and I’m currently working on both, a little at a time.
There’s so much more, but I hope you enjoyed learning a little about who I am.
about the blog
I started my journey into blogging in 2013 creating This Life Worth Loving in 2019 and writing on and off until recently, I plan to write a lot more regularly. My blog writing style has changed over the years as I develop and create and decide the direction I want to go.
I’ve gone from a mom-diary style blog, started to lean towards organization, cleaning and finances, to travel. It took me a while, but I’ve found my niche, what I want to write about and share with all of you.
In early-mid 2022, I made a life-changing decision that ultimately affected the focus of my writing. Things were changing in my household (you can read all about it here) and I made the decision to move into my SUV full-time and travel the states!
I hope to share my journey with all of you – the good, the bad, the beautiful. I’m truly passionate in my belief that a simple life equates to a happy life and I hope to help others that crave travel and simplicity in life.
So, grab a cup of coffee (I have mentioned that I LOVE coffee, haven’t I?) or tea, and let’s visit!
